Founding Story

Health Nurturing Co. Ltd was founded out of a deep recognition of the silent struggles mothers face after childbirth—struggles often unseen, unspoken, and unsupported. In communities across Uganda, many mothers leave health facilities with newborns in their arms but without the essential items and guidance needed for a safe and dignified recovery. With limited access to postpartum care products, information, and emotional support, many experience preventable infections, delayed healing, stress, and challenges in breastfeeding.

Witnessing these realities firsthand, our founder saw a clear gap: mothers were bringing life into the world yet returning home unprepared to care for themselves. This sparked a strong desire to create a solution that was practical, affordable, and rooted in empathy. What began as simple reusable breast pads soon evolved into a broader vision—to provide complete postpartum care packages and essential SRHR education that empowers mothers to heal with confidence.

In 2021, Health Nurturing Co. Ltd was established in Mpigi with a mission to ensure every mother feels comforted, supported, and informed during the most vulnerable stage of her journey. The enterprise integrated product innovation, counseling, and community outreach to offer a holistic approach to maternal care.

As the need continued to grow, so did our commitment. Today, Health Nurturing Co. Ltd stands not just as a business, but as a movement advocating for dignity, safety, and well-being for postpartum mothers across Uganda. Our founding belief remains unchanged: no mother should be left behind in her healing journey.

The Challenge We’re Solving

While Uganda records high breastfeeding rates, many mothers face infections caused by poor breast hygiene and lack of affordable, safe nursing solutions. These infections often disrupt breastfeeding, leading to malnutrition and increased infant illness. Globally, 10% of breastfeeding mothers experience mastitis, a painful condition linked to inadequate hygiene and support.
